The Shining Light BBQ

 was born from a simple but powerful vision: to build fellowship among local congregations while serving our community in a meaningful way. In 2026, we’ll celebrate the sixth consecutive year of the BBQ—and what started as an idea has become a tradition. Now, the first Saturday in June isn’t just another date on the calendar; it’s an anticipated gathering our community looks forward to each year.

In 2025 alone, we welcomed more than

1,000 guests, greeted by dedicated volunteers and treated to some of the best BBQ around. Shining Light’s continued growth is made possible by the generosity of partnering congregations, local businesses, and compassionate supporters who believe in the mission. It’s beautifully simple: donations are given, cooks fire up their grills, and the community shows up hungry—not just for food, but for connection.

Throughout the day, the property comes alive. You’ll see families laughing under tents and trees, children playing games, people dancing, old friends embracing after time apart, neighbors picking up much-needed items from the giveaway table, and heartfelt conversations about the goodness of God.
